Meanwhile Polish companies realize that more work gets done for less money now, because the bitchy women aren't there to bother everyone.

Oh no, Poland will be without receptionists, babysitters and cleaners for a while.

To all Pro-life people: what if the baby would have down syndrome if it was born or it would kill the woman?

Would you be happy to support the child with your tax money if the child has down syndrome?

In the past abortion had never been a hot topic for me when voting. It's become more so just as a slippery slope thing--yet another of the give them an inch and they will take a mile. I've never been pro-abortion though because it just seems kind of scummy at least in the broad premise.

I would be fine with some exceptions to allow abortion like you said if the woman was going to be killed. I have to think that's a really unlikely scenario though. Hell, I could be convinced to compromise on some abortion things pretty easily if I thought both sides would be happy with what they got and leave it be.

I can't really get behind late term abortions at all, I don't want this shit where they are going into labor and decide to off the baby. It's still probably a rare case but something I feel like is trending up way too fast. Same with retardation or unwanted sex or whatever, let the baby be what it's going to be. Tax dollars to support down syndrome is the least of my concern of where my tax money goes. As far as I'm concerned take the tax dollars from all the able-bodied, whiny, lazy victims and instead build a glorious palace for people with downs. We'd still save money.

As for taxes, I think repeated studies have shown abortions more than pay for themselves when it comes to tax dollars.

You'll notice that most anti-abortion people also have strong feelings on the welfare state and other similar things. AKA the place where all that money ends up costing people more.

Same with strong feelings on preventing the pregnancy in the first place. Whether through outdated means (abstinence education) or cultural (ending the "sexual revolution" induced hookup culture).

Its not like people are just hearing about this issue two minutes ago and haven't had the time to think through consequences. Most of them just have wildly different perspectives on many things that all are relevant factors to this singular topic.

Yeah I didn't think of all the reasons for "medical" abortions. All in all it's just not a topic I'm well versed on. When it really comes down to it I do try to separate emotional thought (i.e. what I believe is right) vs. logical thought (what should the government do here). It's a topic like I said I'd be very much open to compromise on. If we're talking US politics though, there's very little compromising it's pick one extreme or the other a lot of the time.

When I really think about it, it's still not a point of contention for me when it comes to politicians, voting, etc. There's things I hate much more, such as restrictions on free speech and things that personally affect me more directly. None of those are abortion. Abortion has to be at least ten spots down the priority list anyway.

Are we going full eugenics? Can I vote entire traits out of the gene pool? Abort all babies with single moms, low IQs, or all sorts of other undesirable flaws?

If not, then no. We can't keep making fuzzy lines based on "well obviously in THIS case" because its never obvious and a corrupt/shitty person will always push the green zone further for nefarious ends.

I'd rather support a kid born with something unfortunate than 12 welfare queens or career petty criminals that I already am stuck with.

On top of it, its a shitty question. Using an extremely rare case to make judgements on the huge majority. What next, asking if incest rape babies would change my mind?

I'd rather my tax dollars go to down jobs than the usual scuzz on welfare.?

Jokes aside, whichever party comes out on top of it, they are going to be for big government, more and higher taxes and ever expanding welfare.

Fortunately Poland might just be based enough to ignore them.

In principle unions and striking are a good tool. In practice they very rapidly become more trouble than they're worth.

They have outlived their usefulness. They are handy as a tool to give some form of control to the workers but they have long since been just another wing of the bureaucracy.

They are literally controlled opposition.

Most doctors and business men would fall apart because their harem secretaries/nurses wouldn't be there to do all their paperwork and phonecalls.
