Yes but its less likely to happen and in the past there used to be multiple fansub groups to offset that problem, and it wasn't just monopolized by a shitty corporation. And they certainly wouldnt have gone directly at the source to change it .
That is only half true. i've actually have seen that they sometimes genuinely think they are "catering to local standards of overseas" and dont realize the true anime fans/Japanese games fans overseas hate these changes. I've seen Japanese people arguing about this that they "need to cater to overseas standards" not realizing the true anime fans/Japanese games fans hate them doing that. This is an arguement that Japanese otaku hate when dealing with woke Japanese that want to "cater to overseas standards" of course these Japanese that are saying things like that really just have bad intentions and want to change otaku culture and they use "catering to overseas" as an excuse
In this case i heard that the Japanese streaming version got censored as well but not the TV version but im not 100% sure.
The worse thing is that they didnt just change the subtitles they also got the voice actor to change the dialogue for the streaming version for the international release.
This is why we need fan subs and to get things directly from Japan and not through a middle man
its strange that they would put cartoon in their reporting system but their actual rules still say that it has to be realistic. i also wonder why lolicon is something that gets people upset but furry isnt. But regardless i doubt many people will still be using twitter once it starts asking people to pay money for its use(yeah they are planning on doing that in case you didnt know)
So according to Assassin47 (you can find his post on the thread) the uncensored dialogue WAS in Japanese but only in the TV version, the streaming version is censored, just like everywhere else. So that probably means it IS for woke reasons.
Im going to guess some of it is domestic wokeness and some of it is also them being scared of overseas woke backlash, cause the streaming version is the one that goes overseas so they created two different versions?
If the streaming version was cut but the tv version was not cut , then it has to be about wokeness. Maybe a mix domestic wokeness and fear of overseas woke backlash cause the streaming version is the one that goes overseas?
The show could have been worse, the story itself wasn't adapted badly, even though there was race swapping and wokeness.
Oda was involved with choosing the main cast, it was the side characters that he didn't chose. Still he should have spoken against it more though
there was an arc about fishmen being discriminated against in one piece and they think fishmen were an allegory for black people. SO because of that they think we should accept their black washing and black supremacy
Its dumb that they compared themselves to fishmen but even with that allegory, there was also a message that the fishmen supremacists were also shit , and that fishmen should not strive for revenge, but should strive for peace . the wokes probably missed that part though of course
Because they know they will get more push back if they say that its "the male fantasy "because people are getting sick of feminists. By calling it "pedo bait" instead they make it harder for people to argue against them.
The more global the company gets the worse it gets . There's sell outs but also probably globalist shareholders involved amongst other things. Bankers behind all this have infinite money to take over everything.
. Even Pokemon Legends Arceaus which is supposed to be set in Medieval Japan , somehow had a bunch of blacks shoved in to it. This isnt natural or organic,
The person who starts throwing out "lolicon" as an insult is the first to lose. Especially if you are in an argument on "who knows the weebs in Japan better".
Also there's no such thing as Japanese "weebs" . They are called Otaku in Japan not weebs.
"Reset the clock" is simply a statement of observation. Here is a long thread of reset the clock moments. https://archive.md/U23XK
