The protests across the country this weekend drew ten times the numbers.

Canada is about to get very dark, but I think a critical mass of people even here have already become aware of what's happening, and this can't sustain itself forever.

Even if he manages to get away with this, they can't freeze the assets of tens of thousands of people all at once without creating a parallel economy. If that's the route they take, unpersoning that many people in such a short period of time, freezing them out of the economy, the result will be to create a separate society entirely outside of their control. They will create out of tyranny what we've been trying to generate organically.

The NDP has no money to fight an electoral campaign. Making this a confidence vote is more likely targeted at Trudeau's own party. A few Liberal backbenchers have already spoken out against the government, and that means more are thinking it. Trudeau's just made it so they all might lose their jobs if they oppose the EMA.

They don't have the money to fight another campaign. That's what happens when you sell out your blue collar union voters, who have money to donate, in favour of student politics.

Too many livestreamers and indy journalists releasing truthful footage. They're having trouble controlling the narrative.

Yes. And that COVID is as real a medical threat as "the vaypuz" were.

dagthegnome 2 points ago +2 / -0

True. Although I'd like to point out that there are flags in the crowd that say "Fuck Trudeau."

It was -15 Celsius (5 degrees) in Toronto today, and colder with the wind. If Trudeau is still in power 2 months from now, the crowds will be 5 times this size, in one of the most commiefied of all the commie utopias in Canada.

The very fact that they feel the need to defend themselves like this means they know their actions are indefensible. After letting foreign-funded rioters last year get away with burning down churches and cutting the heads off of statues, their repeated incitements failed to provoke a violent response from the convoy, and the world watches while they tear-gas kids and trample grandmothers. No amount of bootlicking, Trudeau-fellating Twitterati can possibly make them look like the good guys here.

Literally just a hangry stoner.

Bruuuuuuuh. What if---What if there just wasn't anything at all, bruuuuuh? What if nothing meant anything and we all just got to define the whole world for ourselves and shit? Bruuuuuuuuuh I want a sandwich so fuckin bad bruh. Just---Just fucking destroy everything. Tear everything down and get me some fucking Subway.

No, the right resorting to left wing tactics and thinking they'll work the same way with no institutional power behind them is why we lose.

All of which could and maybe will happen whether the protesters get violent or not. They just fumbled the ball and you want us to hand it back to them. Peaceful doesn't mean harmless. The trucker convoy protests have done enormous harm to their narrative already by destroying the illusion of consensus. They overreacted, and now their only recourse is to try to paint us as the instigators. You really think it's a good idea to just cede that ground?

More protesters are arriving in Ottawa as we speak. Nothing is stronger than the message that sends.

If you think they look strong after this, when the only provocation was 3+ weeks of honking and dance parties, you need to rethink how you evaluate optics.

Actually, it turns out this lady with the walker is native, and a respected elder in her community. She's been at the protest since day one. Another poor aboriginal victim of racist RCMP violence. The lefties are really in a moral pickle now, lol.

Correction: Apparently she's in hospital with an injured shoulder but otherwise fine. Some reports are saying the other victim (brown jacket) is in worse shape.

The protesters have been winning people over to their side by being peaceful, and they need to stay peaceful. They're not the ones who just spent the day beating up veterans in the streets with the whole world watching.

There is now a rumour (JUST A RUMOUR) that this lady died. Other rumours going around that more than one protester has been killed.

"To help secure Ukraine border" because she's done such a good job on border securing at home.

I'm told the Delta variant is much more serious than the original.
