NYC has dozens of schools and universities, I'd argue they're more likely to be college students at NYU, Columbia, CUNY, FIT, etc. Not to mention all of the transplants from the Midwest and California working at tech jobs like Google, Amazon, YouTube, SalesForce and countless others in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island City.
For what it's worth, Cuomo was extremely unpopular among women because of his attitude and sexual comments towards women, which was confirmed by NYS investigations that he violated NY and Federal Law. That's literally why he resigned as governor. Young women hate him and probably voted for his opponent extra hard because who would vote for someone who has a proven track record of treating women like shit? Even if islam treats women like garbage, Mamdani hasn't done anything YET while Cuomo has and it ruined his career. Also, Cuomo is why new york city is in shambles. As Silwa put it, "No Cash Bail" isn't Mamdani's fault, it was Cuomo's brain child.
