not always the case, Ive been enjoying Hell Let Loose (Indie Dev WWII FPS) over the last 3 months. The dev have put a hell of a lot of focus on realism and period accurate authenticity similar to the old Battlefield games but with more strategic map control. If youre into tactical FPS id recommend giving it a try on a Free Weekend, game is still in early access but very polished - e.g. one of my clips
Even after all the changes and the fix to the sandbox with Forsaken... I still prefer Destiny 1 (and still play it once a week) Destiny 2 is very... corporatised
Cyberpunk will be out soon after... my money will be going to CDPR, ive sunk way too much into Bungie over the last 6 years

I finally got a PC this year and suddenly the only thing im interested in on console is the next God of BOI, but that wont be for a while and SJWs are writing the script so im not sure how woke itll get. The big difference is that gaming, unlike movies and music, is an interactive media, and one that still has the "ew nerds" stigma attached to it. I know a LOT of normies who dont game to the extent that I do or dont game at all for that same reason. Turns out that when you outcast people for liking something different theyll form their own community that is resistant to outside infiltration due to similar/shared experiences of ostracism and bullying.
