I care about the actual results.

Your expectations are far too high. I don't see how you can hope to find happiness in this life.

I am content to pwn the libs.

If we happen to get a closed border, lower taxes, and a better economy, those are fantastic stretch goals. But my baseline for success is simply schadenfreude.

Your disappointment is because you've expected too much.

I've always viewed him as a usefully obnoxious battering ram. The substance of a Trump presidency has never interested me as much as the impact of a Trump victory.

You're making the old leftist mistake of taking him literally but not seriously.

Remember, the guy has no filter between his mouth and his brain. Take him seriously, but never literally.

"current anime are shit" narrative

I just don't see anything on the horizon that compares to the past.

But who knows, maybe that Patlabor project will finally actually happen.

Well, if you're serious...

I'd suggest you consider Thunder Bay instead. Canada as a nation may be a trainwreck but the iron range won't notice the collapse. You'll find it very much like England used to be, except everyone drives pickup trucks.

Kusuriya no Hitorigoto

Is a perfectly okay series, in a season where it rises to the top on account of being about the only thing that isn't shitsekai.

If Fire Force came out of hiatus it would burn this entire season's lineup to the ground.

But you're not going to leave.

You're not going to leave because it's hard. Harder than doing the other thing you won't do, which is get a bunch of like minded people together and stand for parliament.

My brief experience working for the republican party left me certain of one thing: people are immensely lazy, and the loudest complainers are the most lazy.

If Sargon can run for MP, anyone can run for MP.

The mission was already fucked. The leak in their propellant system meant they couldn't achieve a stable orientation towards the sun. When the decision was made they had enough fuel to maintain attitude control for 40 hours, after which it would tumble and eventually lose power.

Deorbit while they could still command where the deorbit would occur was the only responsible choice.

If you want the competition to be "fair" you're going to have to solve it the way Thomas Pride did.

The far right in Britain needs to move past bitching about uneven standards of discourse. You are never going to get fair treatment in the media, so it is absolutely imperative that you maintain message control. Take Tommy Robinson. The amount of energy the British far right pour into saying he did nothing wrong is baffling. He is not an asset, he's a goddamn liability. A dumbfuck who can't shut his goddamn mouth is left with only TWO options:

A. Accept that you're going to be thrown under the bus by your own side, or...

B. Run for office and actually fucking win (the Trump / Bolsonaro / Milei solution)

And the fact that he won't do either of those things makes me think he's nothing more than a troll.

still surpass a lot of the western shows

That is a bar set so low it's a tripping hazard.

Piroko 3 points ago +6 / -3

None of the above.

You are living in an era of anime so bad you don't know how to properly identify how bad it is.

Yes.

It's the right's own fault in UK for not creating a credible far right alternative party.

Labour is probably going to win

You have to let the Tories fail to get rid of the Blairites in the Tories.

Both interpretations are true.

No amount of inspections will eliminate turbine blade failures. Too many inspections will probably increase them. But every time one happens, the conclusion will be that it could have been caught. Because although people will readily accept risk and carry on, authorities which exist to mitigate problems can never adopt that as their official stance. It would negate their reason for existing.

747, so it surprises me if it was 8 year old

Registration N859GT, manufactured 2015.

Turbine blade failures are something which simply has to be accepted as a statistical likelihood. They're going to happen, because we're building machines that push materials and physics to the limits of endurance.

If you're uncomfortable with it, don't step in a machine that relies on something rotating at 20k rpm.

Uncontained engine failure on an 8 year old aircraft.

A turbine blade detached upwards, punching a hole in the wing.

Happens. Atlas is probably skimping on blade inspections.

There are SOME good DS9 episodes.

For example, the Circle trilogy (S2E1-3).

Yes and no.

See, ever since youtube started bitching about ad blockers, I've started running it in private mode browser windows only.

The thing about recommendation systems is that they're trained by all users collectively. If you suppose that a specific demographic starts using private mode en masse, well, their contribution to the recommendations is going to be eroded out as well

Think of recommendations like dirt paths. They only remain paths if you keep using them.

I'm not really sure what an American analogy would be. Maybe "Ivy League".

Probably.

In Midlands American english "Laurentian" just means referring to the Laurentide Ice Sheet that made the Great Lakes and Niagara Falls.
