If the left wanted ammo on why it'd be a good idea to defund the police, they'd use this because there clearly isn't a reason for a half dozen cops to be present to arrest an elderly lady for the crime of walking around by herself without a mask on. Which is even crazy to consider that's a crime in the first place.
But you know they won't. She doesn't fit the racial narrative and they love it when authoritarianism is used for their own goals anyway.
Remember when mass murder was defined as killing four or more eople in a brief window of time in the same geographic proximity, with a motive that wasn't "if I don't shoot I will probably die?"
Two weeks to receive ballots is insane, especially given that you would expect local mail to take maybe one, two days tops to reach its destination. If you really wanted to have mail-in voting, three days seems more than sufficient and still gives time for recounts and other verification processes before the result must be certified. Allowing it right up until the vote becomes final screams like a process that would be prime for cheating and errors.
Or just scrap mail-in entirely and encourage people to vote in person so their vote doesn't end up randomly discarded because a postal worker threw it in the trash.
The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a wand is a good guy with a wand.
And then there's Neville.
Don't worry, just like Trudeau's gun-grabbing from that massive killing spree they had this will be briefly covered as a Good Thing and then not at all talked about.
I find myself toying with the idea of changing universal voting rights too from time to time, since it does seem like a vector to erode a country's morals, values, and even prosperity. I don't think we'd need to go full Starship Trooper or only permit property owners to vote, but maybe net positive taxpayers could be fine? Harder to verify that though.
If the price is they get sick a little earlier than others, sure. I'm sure even the anti-maskers would tell you that's a risk they're willing to take in the face of defying authoritarian garment orders.
If the price is effectively state-sanctioned slavery? No, and it should be obvious as to why.
Of course they would. Fascism is just honest socialism in the sense that it doesn't pretend the State just magically goes away once the means of production are seized and nationalized.
Businesses should really just skip the headache of having to adhere to a constantly shifting target and say that they are operating in support of black lives, and that all their patrons are protestors.
Unfortunately the only equity problem that will be solved will be the chief officer and her eventual bureaucratic monstrosity lining their pocketbooks with rent-seeking make-work.
Help the students? What students?
It's certainly not limited to YouTube creators to pull up the ladder once they've finished climbing it - think of the comedians that built a career off making edgy, off-color jokes that now condemn that practice for rising comedians.
At some point I want people to snap out of the mass hysteria and realize they've been indoctrinated into a cult that abuses their empathy to make them justify atrocities committed upon others.
Knowing that's not gonna happen anytime soon really saddens me if the reactions to this tweet are any indicator.
Other, for straight not D.
Outside of the presidential race, I'm still going to be researching the candidates to see who's the best fit for the job, but given that this year the Democratic party is proving itself to be unfit for office they are not getting my vote anywhere as a form of protest.
Why would Canadians have that much of a vested interest in the US elections? Why should it come at the expense of their tax dollars?
I mean this is the kind of thing you could expect when the thing that was supposed to be "safe, legal, and rare" turns into a primary contraceptive measure.
Honestly the government should just stop subsidizing them altogether. You wanna #ShoutYourAbortion you can pay for it instead.
