Been watching a MacBook repairman for a while, and found this gem. Essentially the city will become empty because:
Everything that people would stay in NYC to do and be worth the taxes is closed due to quarantine,
Taxes are terrible
Foreign wealthy people (probably mainly CCP) own hundreds, if not thousands of buildings that they don’t care to rent because it’s just there for tax writeoffs.
Just food for thought. Ideally, my solution to this would be a vacancy tax for commercially coded buildings, but I’d love to know if anyone had a better idea than that. Oh, also for Congress to pass a law stating foreigners aren’t allowed to own more than a certain amount of property in the whole country, if they can own any property at all.
Democracy was a mistake.
That's a bit harsh. Democracy is fine buy the franchise should never have been extended past land or business owning males
The longer I live, the more "Service guarantees citizenship," makes sense.

Democracy is the path to socialism. This is a Republic for a reason
The franchise will always be expanded by decadent elites seeking power.
If the "elites" get their way whether people vote or not and regardless of how the people vote; and if we are where we are as a country due to the "elites", what would have made the outcome any different had people not been able to vote?
The corporate structure works well. There is an absolute king who can be replaced by the board if he gets crazy. The board has no power themselves. We need a capitalist government with meritocratic heirarchies.
Net-taxpayers.
Yeah that might work but then again an awful lot of highly paid idiots in academia and white collar work would qualify then.
Id rather a small business owner get the vote over any ten academics
