The murderer was high on drugs. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets off for "not being in his right mind" while high on illegal drugs.
The system is fucked for normal, law abiding citizens.

750k pays for a lot of advertising about jury nullification.
750k is enough to buy a decommissioned military surplus tank, recommission it, and arm a small volunteer battalion to provide fire support.
