At least some of us were aware of it going forward and just joined the newest front of the "culture war."
Its still shocking to me how many GGers had to wake up to it, and how many still keep their head in the sand.
It's not just us waking up, it is also that the media has become appreciably worse in the last few years.
Just like saying that 'anti-racist is code for anti-white' was ridiculous... in 2012. It is close to indisputable now, except that it's not really 'code'.
The media itself is more openly worse, but the culture and people have been this way for a long time.

Problem is too many people don't want to think about it, either because they're sympathetic or because they don't want to consider that the world is generally retarded
I think some simply want to be "reinserted back into the Matrix" as it were.
It's fucking exhausting having to pick shaving cream and breakfast cereals based on whether the owner of the brand wants me dead.

Completely agreed. It blows my mind that they pull the “ethics in game journalism” card constantly and don’t realize that’s a symptom and not the root cause. They’re delusional.
