At least some of us were aware of it going forward and just joined the newest front of the "culture war."
Its still shocking to me how many GGers had to wake up to it, and how many still keep their head in the sand.
It's not just us waking up, it is also that the media has become appreciably worse in the last few years.
Just like saying that 'anti-racist is code for anti-white' was ridiculous... in 2012. It is close to indisputable now, except that it's not really 'code'.
The media itself is more openly worse, but the culture and people have been this way for a long time.
Odd way to spell prophetic
Problem is too many people don't want to think about it, either because they're sympathetic or because they don't want to consider that the world is generally retarded
I think some simply want to be "reinserted back into the Matrix" as it were.
It's fucking exhausting having to pick shaving cream and breakfast cereals based on whether the owner of the brand wants me dead.
I don't blame anyone who wants back in, but I don't think it's possible for me to go back.
Completely agreed. It blows my mind that they pull the “ethics in game journalism” card constantly and don’t realize that’s a symptom and not the root cause. They’re delusional.
It's not just the media. It's the indoctrination in academia as well. The media reinforces the indoctrination. Then the people raised on this become part of the academic, media, and political institutions, feeding further indoctrination. It's all a nasty cycle.
This is basically the tl;dr of the cathedral.
The only good to come out of unethical games journalism was that it cast the scales from our eyes. Once you realize you can't trust one outlet you start to become skeptical of the others and keep tabs on what they do, and that was all it took to realize just how much fake news is out there.
WHY?
Yes, but don't forget what happens in November.
Call the impossible election wrong once, you look stupid. Call the impossible election wrong twice, and the house of cards collapses. I dunno what comes after that, but I know the status quo dies.
Amen
Jesus. It’s the most accurate comic ever. I will never forget how gamergate started me on my red pill journey.
