Notice how much of a big deal the Catholic Church makes about Mary as Jesus' mother, despite how much He was referred to by Himself and others as "Son of David" and "Son of Man", and Mary is almost exclusively only referenced when talking about Christ's early life. The Gospel of John doesn't even mention her by name.
