I didn't see this posted yet and is perhaps the most culturally important gaming development that has occurred ever.
Without getting into politics or morality of sides, war has been forever changed and favors cheap rapid drone deployment overwhelming more expensive weapons and soldiers. Now the neckbeard eating Cheetos can kill 10 elite soldiers before lunch when he drinks a mountain dew.
Ukraine has released a drone training simulator, and is allegedly similar to how they train their people. They have managed against all odds to repel a much larger and better equipped foe, and are even exporting their tactics and training to the middle east.
These sorts of tactics put heavy manufacturing countries like China in an advantaged spot that I think other countries now must adapt to.
Oh so THAT's why they raised their draft age to 55. Because they're winning. See, here I thought it was exactly what it looks like, like they'd been feeding every military age man in their country into a meat grinder for absolutely no gain in the past few years.
Ukie cope is absolutely bottomless it seems.
I don't think anyone would describe Russias current situation as winning, even the Russian milbloggers on telegram. I have family in Moscow and I am not hearing positive news there.
But the point of this post is the gaming aspect, which is training cheap drone operators to target economic infrastructure. We see Iran mimicing this strategy as well.
Did you ever consider that Russias goal was NOT the total destruction and annexation of Ukraine? Say whatever you want about Putin but the first 2 months of this war he gave a few public speeches where he stated what he wanted and what he is going to do, and he is doing exactly that. He is holding the eastern 1/3 or so of Ukraine including the 3 or so ethnic Russian regions who wanted to join Russia: Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaphorizhia, and preserving Russias access to the Black Sea through Mariupol and access to Sevastopol.
Honestly Im surprised this war has not ended yet, with Ukraine giving up that land they couldnt defend.
I shoulda stopped reading after you claimed you believed putin. Ukraine was 2 weeks away from nukes btw.
the retards who dont agree with the US getting involved in the "not our war" with Iran, dont see the parallels with not getting involved in the "not our war" with Russia.
They do not see any similarities at all. But its time for your 8th booster shot, g0y. 2 weeks to slow the spread, i mean 2 weeks to flatten Iran, I mean 2 weeks for a special military operation.....
Well their stated goal was "de-nazification", which I believe you would agree hasn't occurred yet.
I personally think they didn't have clear objectives which is why they're in the mess they are in with over a million casualties and little to show for it.
I am reminded of a heated discussion in a Moscow bar where a young lady was ranting at my friend saying that "Russia won world war two themselves because they lost 27 million in the process. "
My friend replied "you call that winning?".
There was no reply.
Troskyites won ww2 as well as ww1.
There were multiple goals, I already listed them. But i dont follow it anymore. Is the eastern half of Ukraine not rid of Azov Battalion "nazi" goons who were murdering ethnic russians?
someone who only watches western pro-Ukraine media would think that. And that same person who only watches pro-Ukraine western media would believe the body count. Who knows what it really is.
the bulk of the fighting in WW2 was indeed the eastern front. The bulk of the German/nazi deaths were on the eastern front. And yes, the Russians did lose the most men too, they also killed the most Germans/nazis. That is not up for debate, its a fact.
is there actually "winning" in a war where lots of people die on both sides? or is there objectives achieved?
ok?!?
You HAVE to admit the corruption and inadequate adaptation times of the Russian forces has REALLY showed how lackluster a force they are.
Ukrainians have corruption issues but they still want to WIN this war. I've seen accounts where Russian military leaders are forcing bribes from the families of soldiers so that they AREN'T shoved into the meat grinder. It's been more lucrative on an individual level for them to continue the war than win it and that exists within the strategic leadership and I've seen no attempts at rooting that out.
The Russian military has always been lackluster. Quantity over quality has always been their motto.
The Iran war also showed how lackluster the US military is. Gaza and Lebanon shows how lackluster the Israeli military is.
I don't think there exists even a single competent military force today in the entire world comparable to the armies of old Europe.
I've seen the same claims made about Ukraine. If the Ukrainian people actually wanted this war to continue Jewlensky wouldn't have to draft men at gunpoint on the streets.
At least with the Russians, we can say they aren't going completely scorched earth and that's why Ukraine has held out as long as they have. Israel is attempting to go scorched earth and still struggling.
It's a product of where all the competent people are going in society. If you're a quality person, you don't join the military. You go into finance or tech or something to that effect. Not the military.
All the empires with dominant militaries were in periods of time when joining the military was a prestigious occupation so competent people joined the military. Roman Republic, High Medieval Europe, Prussia, Napoleonic France, etc...
Most governments in modernity are bloated bureaucracies with no competent people in them whatsoever except if they're using their competence for corruption to extract gains for selfish reasons. The military is just as bad.
Things will only change after periods of significant wars where all men are at risk of being castrated or killed and all women are at risk of becoming sex slaves. Along with proper incentives for victors (being able to plunder enemies and take sex slaves). Then, you'll see competent people join the military and the bloated bureaucracy give way.
Have you considered that putin's reign was instrumental in dismantling what was left of the military specifically so that there wouldn't be an organized somewhat nationalistic force for when nwo officially happens?
As opposed to what? Us, constantly trying silly Hollywood tactics in the Strait of Hormuz, and constantly asking for ceasefires that we intend to break?
Or the French, who claim to have accidentally sold weapons to both sides of every major conflict for the last fifty years, up to and including supplying Warsaw Pact powers and Al Qaeda simultaneously with arms and equipment during the Russo/Afghan War?
Or us again, having lost actually uncountable amounts of materiel for no gain supplying the idiot Ukies?
There are artillery units in the United States right now practicing drills without live rounds, because we gave them all to the goddamn Ukraine. That's not winning.
I’m sure Ukraine wants to do a lot of stuff. Reality is they aren’t even close to winning, even with the Russian command as inept as it is.
Also I’d be wary of the accounts you read of the Russian military/society in western media. Russia has been on the verge of economic collapse for three and a half years now according to them and they’re still trucking along.
Both have drones. The iran one was remade by the US, Ukraine and Russia.
