Holy narcissism, Batman. Instead of looking in the mirror or looking at the TV show for the reason it was poorly rated, he immediately blames humanity for it being poorly rated. Like a narcissist.
I just thought the reverse gall of the BBC showing how all of the successful Doctors were straight, white and male (Things which hadn't been considered before) was a bit backstabby of them to do in front of a world stage.
The minute they put out a 'gay' 'black' Doctor they were being the very souteneur of DEI practises that they claimed to be against.
I hope Ncuti bounces back from this and the BBC and Disney get scarred by it.
What's funny is the Karen doctor before him was already doing plenty of damage, so of course they doubled down with a gay black dude instead of admitting that wokeness is toxic
Jodie was damaging because the writers of her stories didn't know what they were doing.
Sure there was the whole "Woman Doctor" thing going on at the time, but Missy was well received and so the concept of a Gallifreyan regenerating across gender wasn't unheard of (Don't get me wrong the whole General Kenossium ""Back to normal, am I? ...how do you cope with all that ego?" was the last straw of Moffat's tipping point push). I'd even say The Woman Who Fell To Earth was a pretty decent episode (Up until the ending). But the writers were all about activism and not about truth, and their focus on the companions, whilst a noble attempt, couldn't stay true between episodes.
A quick line from the Doctor stating that Rosa Parks was more of a figurehead than the actual originator of the civil rights movement of America, or how Kashmir was still a hotbed of conflict despite times getting better, or how locking up your blind daughter in an isolated cabin with bear noises torturing her while you are off coping a feel with your dead missus roleplaying as a frog isn't right - these would have been Doctory things to point out. But instead we got all the "Fam" and their inconsistencies between episodes. Ryan's dyspraxia disappearing during Praxeus could have been funny if it wasn't so hamfisted, or Yasmin's conflict handling training as a police officer contradicting what the Doctor did. But nah, it'll be alright.
So Chibnall messed up royally with his handling of the show, so badly in fact that RTD was seen as the Second Coming (Yes, I did just do that) and instead of glazing over with a sugar coating and setting the Doctor right he went full on Nathan-Turner and screwed his own original version of the Doctor and made a happy-go-lucky aspiring actor into a gollywog for progressive gayness in the process.
The fact that in Gatwa's last scene as The Doctor Jodie shows up and completely owns the scene (I mean...WTAF!) just shows how far they have strayed from the precision and care that Capaldi had brought to the role.
I really don't think that fans of Doctor Who are against the Doctor being black, gay or a woman. But since he has never heralded being white, straight or a man I don't see how his being anything other than The Doctor is important to his stories.
This is a perfect example of DEI being all of the things that it claims to be against. And they managed to steal from those who pay for it and expect dividends to go into others' pockets from it. And Davros isn't in a wheelchair anymore because of how disabled people are viewed as evil, whilst putting rocket launchers into DEI Karen's?

This is 90s thinking.
Yes, it's accurate to say that there's nothing wrong with a female or Black Doctor, per se, but in current year, every single time, it's done for the sole purpose of subversion by radicals.
I don't watch anything that "prominently centers" women, queers, or non-Whites. Not specifically because I have a problem with those groups, but because I know the writing will be contemporary SoCal Rainbow preaching disguised as whatever the show was supposed to be.
I'm pretty sure The Jeffersons, Barney Miller, That's My Mama, Soap, Murphy Brown, Maude, Three's Company, Gidget and Are You Being Served all handled those topics well enough before the 90s.
But you are perfectly correct, in 'current year' a big hooha has to be made about these issues. And if that's not pimping out 'eccentricities' I don't know what is.
Once upon a time we could laugh at the only gay in the village, or "I'm a lady". But now, it's "Computer says no!".
To think that the BBC took on us basement dwelling outcasts of society and lost royally in front of the entire world. That's gotta sting.
Proving once again that these freaks are happy whether the woke versions of these cultural icons succeeds or not. The point is to desecrate something the enemy has enjoyed for generations. Just another statue torn down or church set on fire.
Don't worry, you'll be ONLY remembered as the Black fag that cost the BBC possibly billions in their failed deal with Disney.
Be sure to show your resume at your next gig 😊
So, of course, he turns up on SNL...

Dr. Who ended in 1989. What is he talking about?
they did do that one revival special in 2005 that was a nice walk down memory lane. glad they stopped making it after just those 13 episodes.
Tennant fans can suck it, you're part of the problem
