Pollsters are now asking AIs to answer surveys as if they were humans and passing the results off as poll statistics (scored.co)

the practice that tricked Axios is called “silicon sampling,” and it’s a recipe for disaster

This is a very charitable way to frame it.

I don’t believe for a second that they were "tricked,” and calling it a "disaster" is like those articles talking about how a truck drove into a group of people: technically correct but also very wrong.

Polling has been manufactured consensus for years, but why pay for polls when you can have AI tell you what you want to hear for pennies on the dollar.

Let's not forget the auto-laundering through media articles citing media article from these 'polls', then being credible on Wikipedia, and then taken as academic fact with artistic interpretations becoming social media talking points which then lean into political decisions being made.

It is sheer dishonest propaganda with the flimsiest of get outs (As if human polls stating that Hilary Clinton had 98.8% of the USA voting for her in 2015 wasn't bad enough).

And all AI are pre-censored by the ADL, Sam Altman and his husband, Spez and his wife’s boyfriend.

Why bother? Seems like extra steps if you're just going to fudge the data anyway.

Polls and surveys have always been bullshit and easily manipulated to push an agenda, AI or not wont change that
