Quite possible, but at least 2 other massive centers are in planning, backed by huge money. Lots of "smaller" ones needing only 2-3 GB of power are also planned. "only"
I have NO idea how these monstrosities will pay for themselves, or even what goals they hope to accomplish. I'm just pointing out the massive power demands they have & that they are NOT using Wind & Solar, eh?
Um, yeah. That's kind of my point, eh?
W&S simply don't work. They require 100% backup OR rolling or even total blackouts that could last for days. Alarmists never seem to grasp this concept.
The greenies seem to think that 9GB of W&S needs 9GB of battery backup. Nope! To run for 2 days off batteries requires 9x48GB of backup battery capacity. 96GB capacity, at 4X the cost per GB of the W&S it backs up. IF the technology existed to do the job, it doesn't. Alarmists are stupid.
Or 9GB of Gas or Nuclear... but if you're building 9GB of gas, why build W&S (at twice the cost) at all? 🤔 Hydro is out, there are NO more large hydro projects left that could be viable.
Natural gas would still be cheaper than nuclear even if all regulatory oversight on nuclear was removed.
Realistically, nuclear just is unfeasible until we completely run out of all fossil fuels such that people literally force the government to remove all oversights for fear of losing electricity to watch Netflix.
The mere refection costs of our now-closed single nuclear powerplant in Québec would have made it more expensive that the windfarm scams that already cost 10 times what hydroelectric power costs.
It's not economically reasonable in countries with access to natural gas or other cheap sources of energy.
So they're going to build a bunch of Gas power stations JUST for the data center. Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary's company.
Why don't they build Wind & Solar? It's cheaper & perfect in every way! (/end sarc)
But really, they should build Nuclear power for it.
They aren't going to build anything. This is all kabuki theater to keep investors pumping money into this scam.

Solar and wind are for the plebs who will get rolling blackouts when it's -30° in the Winter and 90° in the Summer.
The stable electricity will be for the AI datacenters.

They will eventually get an SMR nuclear reactor for it. And the company that is working on it is run BT Israelis. Are you tired of winning yet?
Wind, and solar is not good enough. Nuclear is too expensive.
