Looks decent but feels like a game we've been playing for the last 15 years just with better visuals.
Still waiting for the game where you swing a big sword/axe and it cleaves smaller enemies, but gets stuck in larger enemies, so you actually have to time where and how you hit foes.
It would also be nice if we saw more reactive effects from magic. A cold spell freezing an enemy's legs and causing them to drag their legs along but they can still swing their weapons at normal speeds. Or freezing their arms and slowing their attacks but they can still run at you full speed.
Or setting enemies on fire actually causes them to panic and attempt to roll around and put out the fire (though to the credit of many games, they do usually get fire effects on enemies correct).
It would also be nice to see hurting/injuring enemies, so they may fall but they don't die, and they can still be a threat.
There are so many different ways to really evolve the genre, but we're still just seeing derivative iterations of the same thing.
It's a little like what's the defining mechanical differences between this and Dark and Darker? Or Dungeonborne? Or Arx Fatalis? Or Mortal Sin? or Darkblade Ascent? Or Tainted Grail? Or Testament? Or the upcoming games Unawake or FateKeeper?

Most excellent. Dark Messiah's an old favorite of mine and I've wanted to see more games like it for a long time.
They have a cave troll...
Looks cool. I'll keep an eye on this.
Saw that the other day too. Looks very promising.
Badass.
