Crunchyroll is such a faggot platform, and it was from day one. The issue is the idiots who don't sail the high seas are the ones who pay for this shit, and they're too stupid and lazy to care about things like subversion even when it's against their self-interest.
My biggest beef with Crunchyroll is just how thoroughly it has gutted the fansubbing scene. It used to be any given series had at least two or three groups subbing it as it was coming out, which gave you a good spread both for quality of sub presentation as well as translation quality. If someone was being retarded on the level of "jelly donuts", you could just swap over to a less retarded subber and move on with your day. Now those groups are all dead and the new game in town is to just copy/paste CrunchyRoll's subs and tinker with the "encoding" to try to shrink the file size a little bit. Yay? I'd rather have gargantuan file sizes with good subs.
Kill CrunchRoll. Bring back fansubs.
It's the same garbage with mangas. Most of the good scanlation groups are dead. The only people remaining are those trying to monetize their work with "timed exclusivity" behind a paywall or those who do machine translation without any kind of proofreading. The number of times I've seen the wrong gendered pronouns on characters is mind boggling.
In fact, the whole internet is starting to feel like that. It's as if our societal decay has forced people to grift on the internet just to survive. That or the floodgates have been opened to shitty third worlders.
It's definitely the latter. Letting them onto the internet was a horrific mistake. It's Eternal September all over again.
