And "conservatives" on youtube like Film Threat are giving it good reviews and recommendations. It's a perfect example of why we lose. The left throws punches at their opponents, while the right throws money at ours.
Yeah, same with Prey when it came out (the predator spin off with women).
It's like guys like that or geeks and gamers/friday night tights are desperate to have a new Ripley where it's like "see guys, we're quasi feminist too...we just want our girlbosses to be better written"
I pretty much have a mix of like 1950s and middle ages view of the sexes.
I TOLERATE Ripley and Sarah Connor because the movies are good. I don't love them in it. I enjoy Aliens and Terminator 2 despite James Camerons male feminist cuckery. I don't put it on this pedestal of "Wow remember when female characters were strong in a good way?!"
I want to see men taking on action and women being the damsel in distress. That makes me a "sexist" but I feel like it's unnatural to want to see women doing action.
There are like two exceptions where it isn't egregious and doesn't break things and I don't put them in girlboss territory
Is Trinity from the Matrix. She's literally living in a video game essentially and her skills are no more or less impressive than anyone else in that universe for people who have done the programming. Morpheus is a slightly chubby guy who can punch faster than the the eye can process. All the rules are broken for everyone with only Neo being uniquely better than anyone else.
Underworld. I've only seen the first movie, I didn't love it or hate it, but I didn't think it was a "girlboss" movie, because again, it was more Matrix logic, and Kate Beckinsale's role in that movie is to look attractive while shooting vampires, that's it, not any sort of girlboss vibe from it.
Now do I want more Trinity's or Underworlds with female action characters?
Definitely not, but just saying those are more tolerable to me than Sarah Connor or Ripley in Aliens. Now it's not like Ripley or Sarah Connor were like the girlbosses of today. Ripley was nurturing, maternal, not overpowered and Sarah Connor was nuts and traumatized and worked out constantly, but the point is, generally I just don't want to see women in action roles. I like when I watch a movie like Sinbad from Ray Harryhausen from the 1950s and the womans role in that movie is to look incredibly beautiful and be helped by the hero Sinbad who goes on a great adventure.
To me, that's what I want in how sexes are portrayed in movies.
"pfft oh you want them barefoot and in the kitchen?"
That's always been a strawman of what hardline traditionalists like myself want. But yeah, even their strawman of traditionalist sex roles is more appealing than their alternative. Barefoot and in the kitchen > any iteration or version of feminism.
I remember someone shilling for atomic blonde and being dumbfounded but you hit the nail on the head. For some to be tolerated in action they should A. Be in a fantasy type story, and be hot. Even then most people would rather watch men
That movie is progressive moral righteousness put in full motion video form. They all think that they are the "offering" who fight like a badass against all the evil in the world.
I swear there are at least 10 versions of this movie made in the last 5 years.
It does feel like that, and I'm sure all of them sucked.

My wife is barefoot and in the kitchen right now.
You Chad!
This is so much the 2020s style and it makes me feel like I'm going to vomit from its awfulness.
The 2010s seem like high art in comparison.

No interest in femme fatale slop. Definitely no interest in nigger femme fatale slop.
I hate these titles. Bad things are going to happen/They will kill you. It’s reductive trash with no attempt at creativity.
Black women love these kinds of movies.
White men who want women to know how not racist they are love the opportunity they think this movie gives them.
Ewwww.
