Only one game that I can think of had genuine cross platform play without nerfing the crap out of PC players. Shadowrun (2007). I can't remember a time when a Console 'Tard ever beat the most inept of PC players in the match score.

A better question: Why in the world would PC Gamers want to let Console 'Tards vomit stupid all over our PVP matches? They will just lose and then whine endlessly about 'hax' or something similar.

On an even playing field maybe, but in the wild it's been a pretty heavy trend lately that cross platform shooters will give the controllers such heavy aim assist that it's basically a 20 degree cone aimbot. It gets to the point that a lot of mediocre PC players in those games will chose to plug in a controller for that sweet dev sanctioned hax over a M&KB

Same reason we "let" room-temperature IQ foreigners vomit stupid all over our western society. We aren't given a choice. Or at least, one you aren't allowed to discuss in public.
the studios do that, given how most aaa games suck now and player base quickly dwindles within just a year, having crossplays means the game gets to live another year or two. battlefield 6 had great launch and current players already dropped to less than 1/10 peak players after only 5 months
