They're also incentivized to cut corners to reduce cost
So is the federal government. The more they cut corners, the more they can funnel to their corrupt friends and family that "run" the programs doing the corner cutting.
This simply is not true. Even if it were to be better at embezzling, you don't throw out a whole goddamn server rack full of hardware that never made it out of the shrinkwrap for reaching end of life before it got put into production if you're cutting corners effectively. The federal government is one big pile of wasteful spending from top to bottom. However bad you think it is, I assure you that it is worse and that more of it is incompetence than corruption.
Well there has to be some regulations in place, public or private. I'd rather take my chances with incentives for a private company regulated with a baseline standard and routine audits.
Yea, some regulations are called being sued by the families of those who died when the airlines could have prevented whatever happened with effective security.
If I were in charge I'd 1) remove all prohibition for concealed carrying firearms anywhere in any airport or airplane, and 2) establish strict liability for the airlines for any and all terrorism incidents that happen with one of their planes.
So airlines and airports privately could do this better especially since they have an economic incentive to make it efficient yet catch bad actors?
I don't know if I'd go that far. They're also incentivized to cut corners to reduce cost for the almighty shareholder and line going up.
