the op article states that Trump is pushing to sanction the media which is publishing information he claims undermines the US's war with Iran which is largely done to protect Israel.
shouldn't your position be "the jews run the fcc" or "the jews run our government"? if the Jews ran the media, then the hoax article about US planes being destroyed would not have been published, or at least would have been framed differently.
Neither the tweet, nor the related article mentions antisemitism.
Real laws are being passed to limit freedom in the name of stopping antisemitism, so it would be nice if you wouldn't muddy the waters with lies like this.

if you would actually read the entire article, you would know that the threat of revoking licenses is over the media literally lying. in this case, the media reported five US planes were destroyed when they weren't, and Trump is accusing the media of lying on purpose to undermine the war. the democrats, of course, are whinging that they are being held accountable for lying.
it has nothing to do with antisemitism, and everything to do with gasp ethics in journalism.

The FCC cannot threaten this, cannot act on this, cannot unilaterally make decisions about anything. It can't even initiate a fucking court case against a broadcaster over standards.

This has nothing to do with the original article. the actions would not be based on "public interest", they would be based on libel. whether or not the publications are knowingly promoting a hoax, not whether what they're reporting is in the public interest. Take it up with Trump, he's the one making the argument. all I'm doing is pointing out that his position on this issue has nothing to do with anti-semitism contrary to what the op claims. the article he cites about the destroyed planes doesn't even mention Israel, jews, or semites.

Freedom of speech does not mean you get to trespass onto private property and blast your message so loud no one else can talk - which is exactly what broadcasters are doing on certain radio frequencies. The airwaves are a limited public space that is regulated by the people via the government. The idea being that you need to have some level of redress for messages that are beamed through the walls of your house.
You can literally turn your radio and TV off or to another channel. There are dozens of available broadcast frequencies in every market. Your analogy is immediately flawed and completely useless.

As the press is granted special privileges not afforded to the general public, they are consequently burdened with special responsibilities not demanded of the public. To wit, the press must be prevented from lying–in any form–under penalty of imprisonment and/or broadcast license revocation.
