funny thing is.. a lot of very memorable actors/actresses are dying off and no one is replacing them. there is no household names for young actors and actresses. all the household names are like age +60 now lol.
My buddies and I started noticing that almost two decades ago, back when I was just entering high school. There were no new actors moving forward, and action movies in particular were hit hard by this.
its why they keep wheeling them out for nostalgia.. geriatric heroes.
The action star concept died so they could make every thing have an ensemble cast for diversity.
This phenomenon is not just Hollywood, even Asian pop culture/cinema seem this way, I guess when technology allows anyone and everyone to be a 15 second star, nobody is
culture die off indeed.. in the not so far future we gonna lose our country because we lose our culture, identity, borders and heritage. no such thing as "american" anymore, its gonna be "global" or "international".
