No, the funds were Iranian assets that had been frozen/ seized for decades by the U.S. It was their sanctions relief in exchange for them allowing UN, EU, and U.S. inspectors, 24/7 cameras on their nuclear facilities, restricted uranium enrichment to only 3.67%, etc. The deal ensured that they only ever used their reactors for civilian energy. It was a good deal, which Obama negotiated without Israhell and had to wait until the end of his career to do, which they hated him for doing.
Gotcha. I remember that uranium restriction and Ron Paul praised the deal as long as it holds. As I said, I don’t care for the other stuff with Obama like the race obsession, big govt guy like 99% of politicians, abortion stance, etc
Iran broke the deal within 2 weeks. Testing ballistic missiles & stuff. They also never actually allowed inspections since they decided where the inspectors were 'allowed" to go. That wasn't part of the agreement.
They got $1.7B in free, unrestricted money & promptly increased funding to their terrorist proxies.

Just like they did with $300 billion of Russian reserves. Obviously, the US isn't going to pay Iran to make a deal. That's just preposterous, but the Fixed Noise viewers will believe anything. Only Egypt gets money for making a deal, and that is because that deal benefits Israel.
