There is a much better case for things like Pokemon cards being considered gambling, considering you can actually buy and sell them.
I do think lootboxes and gacha will eventually count as gambling, at least in more countries like in Europe, but I would have started with EA using FIFA to promote gambling to kids. That's how you know they just want to stick it to Valve.
