I think the unprecedented scale and pace of their replacement immigration would doom pretty much any nation. You can reverse almost any ideological poison if your demographics remain unchanged, so there's reason for optimism even in the midst of full blown communism. Trudeau was allowed to print trillions, then everyone went surprised Pikachu when inflation went bonkers later. The Charter of Rights, long seen as analogous to the US Constitution, turned out to be be paperthin & completely unenforceable if Liberal judges just chose to rules lawyer or ignore it. All the provincial-level leaders all turned out to be cucks in lockstep with Trudeau & the feds no matter politicians stripe. The government-subsidized MSM is all Pravda. Most of the populace was easily brainwashed that protesting, White working class truckers driving to Parliament were actually the evil, racist terrorists that deserved to be beaten, jailed & put out of work, not Trudeau & his Laurentian elites. You had police breaking into churches & arresting pastors in their places of worship.
All of the other stuff, the mass Indian immigration, the unquestionable support for Ukraine money laundering, the government-backed Palestine protests, the cringe "Elbows Up" government-sponsored TDS, all came later.
It's complicated but I don't think it was any single event really, more a combination of factors. Canada's culture is basically non existent as all our pop culture comes from the US, yet most Canadians despise America. Canada has a very agreeable culture compared to the US, no free speech etc. I think the massive country and spread out population plays a bit of a role, most Canadians have no idea how bad it is for the country as a whole. There's no right wing news here, Canadians have an inverted view of the state where they serve the government. And lots of other stuff which made Canada extra vulnerable to this BS
