This is for renting though, I don't see how it would affect home prices. Anyone using BNPL for rent was probably not going to be buying a home either way.

It’s more traction on the “you will own nothing” timeline. For a comparison though there were 25M rental units/houses in 2005 and now it’s 46M this year. What’s worse is there were 130 million household units in 2005 and… 145 million today. 20% of houses are rental units and that number is only going up.
A bunch of the older cheaper houses in the rural area I live in were bought out and turned into rentals. Just more homes that young people won't be able to buy. The construction companies make them almost exclusively McMansions now, most of them a nice beige color.
