Wait... Netflix is big enough to buy Warner Bros? I would have thought it was the other way around.
At one point it was the other way around. Not today I guess. The mighty truly have fallen.
Crazy how it all started by mailing (often broken) DVDs in paper envelopes to subscribers.

Hell, Blockbuster dropped the ball. They turned away the Netflix founder's offer to buy them out for... goddamn only $50 million?
My family has a saying that goes Start at Shit and Build Up. It works all the time and drives people nuts
WB wiped out most of the value of the company by burying themselves in debt.
To my memory, WB is something like $30 billion in the hole to begin with, and were desperate to fix that. Netflix must have some very deep pockets to want to bring that into their accounting.
Part of the 80billy is probably to pay off debts
Money isn't real. Once you understand that, you can understand how they make these deals.
They’re enormous for an entertainment company, it’s quite impressive to have built it all up over such a relatively short period of time.
