Every once in a while a man wins in a court case like this.
But courts will rule against you any way they can. Example, if a woman keeps a written log of what her boss does and says that's evidence of a "pattern" then he's automatically guilty, if a man keeps the log they'll say it's just fiction made up after the fact and throw it out or a jury will just ignore it.
So you need to collect the best evidence you can and then you'll only win the most egregious of case, but you can win. But if they cartoon villain say "I fired him only because he's a man and I'm a man-hating lesbian" and it's just your recollection then you missed your chance.
I did this. My department was all men and we were positioned so that whenever a woman fucked up we'd get the blame. I recorded and kept a record of everything. Eventually a woman fucked up so huge and I warned her but she did it anyway. I got blamed regardless and despite my proof I was fired.
Good news though, without my department (dumb bitch boss ended up firing the whole dept) she lost the company tens of thousands and then she got fired.
Message is clear, nothing will ever change until money is on the line.

To stop the discrimination against men the men have to sue in court, not just the institution but the persons involved, and make them pay up.
