One of the control mechanisms the people in power use against the public is to foment strife between groups, to keep people waring with each other, rather than directing attention at the people in power. While we're distracted fighting each other, we're not focused on the true cause, the people in power (we all know who they are). I'm not saying we need to ally with other groups like some kind of hippy Captain Planet army, but that the "MUSLIMS ARE COMING" propaganda boogeyman has been used against the entire political right (almost exclusively White people) since 9/11, to get us to do what they want, including numerous wars for the benefit of the people in power.
