Rumors are supposedly because the Misery devs supported Russia and the Stalker tards got butthurt and DMCA'd em over it, which I could totally believe happening.
If I recall correctly the GSC heads were always cunts. I remember that they splurged on luxury shit for themselves after Stalker was became a hit instead of investing in the company which ultimately led to the studio being closed in 2011. I vaguely recall that there were (former) GSC employees who complained about them buying multiple luxury cars but I can't seem to find anything on it anymore.

Like I said I can't find any hard sources for that anymore. I found a couple old reddit comments that talk about it and I'm pretty sure that there even existed a photo of the cars parked in front of the GSC offices. Either way GSC has always been controversial to say the least. Stalker was notorious for being a buggy mess and Stalker 2 is no different. But one stupid war makes people forget very quickly it seems.

The more I scratch the surface, the more this turns into a shit-show.
From what I can see - GSC Game World (Ukrainians) issued a takedown of game using similar themes and imagery of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. called Misery (Russian). Similar titles have not been taken down the same way.
Looking into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. subreddit suggests this is some Russia/Ukraine nonsense.
The devs of Misery are begging their fans not to get into it with GSC Game World while they work through this.
