The problem is we can’t repudiate communism while republicans engage in rampant corporatism. You tell a communist that there’s no money for all the free shit they want to hand out, and that communist just points at fiat currency, quantitative easing, runaway debt spending, endless pork grift, corporate welfare, and countless other schemes and loopholes that result in our government spending trillions of dollars they “don’t have” in order to enrich the top 1%. The mainstream “communist” position amounts to “hey, if you’re going to fuck over the currency and the economy, you might as well do it in service of the average person”. It’s a difficult argument to defeat.
Commies and useful idiots don't even go that deep with their sloganeering.
They just demand that an amorphous "rich" shouldn't have the right to exist, but then don't explicitly detail their plans for extinction, extraction & redistribution.
Not even commies want communism, they don't understand communism; they want the so called "fully automated luxury gay space communism". They are idiots that can be easily manipulated with slogans, commodification of identities (blm, LGBT) and fear monger (climate change, coof, fascism)
They don't want to stop enriching the 1%, they want to enrich the "correct" 1%, the one that will give them free stuff and/or say the right things. That's why they happily throw money at Bernie, Hasan, or even Musk when he was a leftie darling
