Been going on for a long while before really. "Adulthood is realizing the bully is the good guy."
And worse, it's Dispatch, a Telltale Games (or some other dev, but that style) capeshit "interactive movie" thing with QTEs and other garbage. A lot of youtubers like MoistCr1tikal/Penguinz0 and Jacksepticeye do voicework for it. Yeah, it's shit.
Its funny how the VN genre of games evolved from Japan and the West in completely different directions.
The West its always the gayest of gay stories, usually about lesbians, and some dumb message about politics and leaving your parents. And its a dead genre entirely propped up by the Games Journos fluffing it or literal government funding, as very few of them ever sell.
Japan its about which girl (or guy for the fujos) you want to fuck, with entire subgenres about specific types of women and sex scenes for most of them. And its such a massive industry that multiple VNs are cultural landmarks if not the start of entire billion dollar franchises (Fate).
It's like the split between the original Korean mukbangs (admittedly pathetic girlfriend simulators) and the western split (let's watch a disgusting whale stuff their face until they barf and/or cry).
For Japanese VNs? Most of the ones I could suggest you've probably heard of or seen the anime for (Steins Gate, Higurashi, Clannad). I enjoyed School Days way back when for the meme, but outside of that its mostly pornographic.
That's really the reason why its stayed a mostly Japanese genre, because 90% of it is porn or close to it, and when it isn't its usually becomes big enough to get adapted into something else.
Higurashi has been remade like 4 times, so make sure you pick the one that feels most appealing to you. I don't recall much of the content changing, but the art between versions is wildly different. The later versions probably have more added (since they came after the anime was a huge hit), but I know a few guys who swear by the "boxing glove" originals.
Umineko, written by the same guy who made Higurashi, is also a great one. But it is quite polarizing. Either you love it or hate it. But it is suuuuper long.
At this point gaming is just like every other part of the (((entertainment industry))). A skinsuit for zio-globalist demoralization propaganda. It's what happens when you fire all the motivated and talented White men.
From what I've seen so far it's actually a step in the right direction. The dialogue is millennial garbage where everything has to be a sarcastic quip, but the protagonist is a straight white male on a redemption arc, and it's very heteronormative where you choose between two attractive females. Yes, there's a scene where Not-Superman picks you up and kisses you, but that's more about him being an alien with turbo autism who doesn't understand cultural norms.
Also, if the spoilers I've seen are true, of your two romance options you can convince the rough tomboy to take her retarded septum ring out, or the blonde ubermench will give up being a superhero and become a tradwife. That is anathema to modern woke writing.
Literally yes, thousands of people feel an instinctual disgust at them. The specific clique of writers behind most modern big-budget, mainstream entertainment tried to redefine hero from "competent, confident, independent agent of justice" to "insecure, emotionally malleable, stupid martyr who will bleed for whatever his moral superiors tell him to." For what purpose some group of people people would want weak-willed people willing to die for a cause just because enough media sources told them to is obvious as it is evil.
But heroicism, just like morals, can't actually be forced into relativism. It's as much a biological instinct as it is a cultural product, and many people still have a deeper connection with the classical heroes of Beowulf or the Greek epics, despite almost zero common cultural touchstones, than they do these modern abominations.
That's why they have to keep chucking anti-heroes like the punisher and they love making "fake hero" villains, where they start out displaying traditional heroic strength, then turn sour and depraved so they can narratively shit on those initial virtues and taint them.
Reminds me of the first episode I saw of Big Bang Theory. It was accurate from an outsiders point of view, and I knew I would end up picking it apart instead of laughing.
Well before Gamergate or EA becoming the microtransaction simulator company, that dogshit show was a major redpill for me that the entertainment industry hated our guts and saw us as nothing more than expendable cattle.
Is this invincible? That’s a faggot show for fags. Anyway yeah this started with shit like Scott pilgrim vs the world and Zombie Land.

It's not Life is Strange levels of bad at least.
that's a womans face on a mans body.
the author of this work has some serious sexual issues.
Being gay is a pretty major issue.

All part of the (((agenda))) to increasingly feminize and faggotize males. They fear the return of Hadrian's Legions.

Not nearly as bad as the nog being the highly intelligent one - president, god, police chief, wise counselor, problem solver
Everything is faggotry demoralization and propaganda now
