Saw this on Vox Day, and after reading the linked Substack post, I realized it could have been written by any one of us:

Too good to quote, so go yonder and read.
NOTE: I haven't been able to find the snivelly "I'm gonna tell" comment that Vox quotes, because I don't have a Substack account, and can't see any comments.
City have been a blight since Ur. They produce nothing, no food, no minerals, no energy. They are just constant locust and ticks, sucking down everything those outside of cities produce. Jefferson was right, Hamilton was wrong.
I'm guessing you are thinking of the Jefferson quote about piling people into cities?
More that an agrarian nation is ideal.
Although it was a noble thought in the late 18th century, that concept would not have lasted, and the fledging USA would have been gobbled up by the Euro powers of the time. I do like Jefferson, but his concept of an 'Agrarian Nation' was a fantasy and typical dwelling on the past.
Can't act like a bronze age civilization in the steam age.
