The 19th amendment passed shortly after WWI, not exactly "good times."
That "good times, weak men" meme is so fucking dumb. The people who went through the Great Depression and WWII passed some of the worst laws in human history.
That said, if we look outside the US... the first wave of women's suffrage in the UK was passed in 1918 while WWI was ongoing. What's funny is they almost knew better and they still did it:
That is the reason why the age limit of thirty was introduced, in order to avoid extending the franchise to a very large number of women, for fear they might be in a majority in the electorate of this country. It was for that reason only, and it had nothing to do with their qualifications at all. No one would seriously suggest that a woman of twenty-five is less capable of giving a vote than a woman of thirty-five.
- Lord Robert Cecil
Are you familiar with the Dadaist movement? Because you're failing to understand that there are a LOT of people who think that if reason is what leads us to these massive wars, then human's ability to reason is seriously called into question. The fact it happens at all proves that we absolutely did not know better.
i think its because men were tricked by saying "what if it was your daughter or wife?" dont you want your wife or your daughter to vote? to go to school? have same rights (although.. with not all the consequences or responsibilities). dont you want her to be independent and what not and not depend on a man????
thats all there is to it.. thats all it took to start the destructive spiral of the west and some of asia.
I was watching "Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" the other day. And part of the plot revolves around women suffrage in England. And one of the men countering the woman asks if she plans on joining the army, since they'd be voting on war and shit. The woman replied she would not and didn't think woman should join the army.
It was women putting their activism on pause during WWI for women instead to focus on doing what they could in civilian roles to support the war that push public support for it up.
Women are lazy and inferior to men, so they would lose if there is true equality of opportunities.
Thus women will push for equality of outcomes, aka privileges and welfare, and will support illegal immigrants, criminals and LGBT immorality to have it their way.

The goyest generation
We send the strong men off to die.
Leaving the weak men.
Who give women the right to vote.
Better?
Nope. The war didn't lead to some mass culling in the US. Something like .2% of the US male population died in the war.
Fair point.

WWI happening in the first place was a sign things were already going off the rails. Your harmitolgy also has to reconcile that.
Women had to be over 30 and own property. Not exactly easy back then, even during the war.

They were very good times. The fed allowed us to print money instead of creating actual wealth. Why work when you can just print a dollar?
Worst laws? Give me a single example
Immigration Act & Civil Rights Act.

I'm familiar with quite a few examples of the opposite.
Mostly having women in teaching professions is also a huge issue but I guess its related.
Millions of American men were being slow-walked back from Europe post-WWI. Most didn’t make it home until late 1920!
Prohibition passed on January 16, 1919.
Women’s Sufferage passed on June 4th, 1919
There are no coincidences.
