Peace Prize has always been a joke. So has the fake Nobel in economics.
The actual winners from this year: Physics: John Clarke, Michel H. Devoret and John M. Martinis - Discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunneling and energy quantization in an electric circuit. I'm not going to pretend I know what that means. I think it means they were able to create something at a larger (and easier to work with) scale that mimics quantum effects.
Chemistry: Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson and Omar M. Yaghi - Work on metal-organic frameworks, structures which can absorb and contain gasses in a stable form.
Medicine: Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Dr. Shimon Sakaguchi - How regulatory T cells keep the immune system in check, with the aim of treating auto-immune disorders:
Edit: I forgot the Literature prize existed. I will continue to do so.
Peace and literature are usually political garbage but they are Nobel Prizes: Physics, Chemistry, Medicine, Literature, and Peace.
The "Economics Prize" is literally fake. The real name is the "Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel." It was created by Sweden's central bank in 1968, 67 years after the first awards.. It is not a Nobel Prize but it is "administered by the Nobel Foundation." The prize is funded by the bank, not the Nobel Foundation like the five Nobel Prizes.
Not only is it a central bank wearing Alfred Nobel's legacy as a skinsuit. Some of his descendants are on record requesting the the Economic Prize be "differentiated" from the real Prizes. But the press goes ahead and calls it the "Nobel Prize in Economics" anyway most of the time or words it as carefully as they can to make it ambiguous: "The Nobel in Peace went to ABC and the prize in Economics went to XYZ."
Literature was the first to fall to corruption. iirc there was a female Norwegian poet who won for fucking every single Nobel member for ONE book of poetry published, in Norwegian. 🙄

Literature is also a fake Nobel prize. Forgetting about it is the correct option.
