Again, words are magic spells.
Humanity has believed this for more of its history than it hasn't. And I dont just mean "primitive society believed this for a long time so it will take a long time to catch up"

I'm not sure you actually understand what human leadership has been for the last fifty years. If anything they've made a science out of using words to control people.
The difference between magic and science is only perception. Both can be equally true or false, and evidence clearly indicates the population at large is easily controlled with words.
That last 50 years of people NOT believing this is not a sign of progress, but what made it even easier to control them.
I dont think you understood my comment. I wasn't referring to the last 50 years, I wasn't even referring to 50 consecutive years.
I mean that in all human history, for a total of 50 years, has there been anywhere a leadership set that followed rational principles as opposed to platonic, subjective, or emotional ones.
All control is based around the words that wrap the violence behind them. "Controlling people with words" is as universal as it is redundant.
This seems to have been more true than I ever suspected.
Basically all elements of influence a form of magic against will.
