There's no retaliation the Left can suffer that I will ever feel bad about. This sort of thing, for so many years, has completely drained my sympathies. Probably for life.
I will never feel bad for them, but I would be concerned about the implications for our own society if an attack against them was legitimized by the state.
For example, if the state started siding with one group of Socialists or another, and didn't investigate that attack. Or if Jihadis took over a DNC meeting in Dearborn and utilized their roofs, and that wasn't stopped. That would make me concerned, not for them, but for me.

Yes, the right, because it would immediately de-legitimize itself and support a violent crackdown.
