He's being tactical. He's denouncing the celebrations openly, he's not making any caveats for the condemnations at all. He's doing this because he is one of the few people on the Left who seems to truly understand how damaging this is to them. I'm not gonna say it's conciliatory, nor honest, but he knows the Left fucked the dog here and he's trying to stop it from getting worse.
Him and Dave Rubin have been quietly at fucking daggers for years, and Piers Morgan, insanely, put those two on the same panel. Dave Rubin had been a longtime friend of Charlie Kirk so this was definitely a crazy panel to try to have. But Dave (of all people) put all of his intimate knowledge of fucking men in the ass for years, and proceeded to publicly rape Cenk on international television with his own words.
This is what people are failing to understand, the deeply personal nature of this murder to so many significantly influential people, stemming from a bloodlust they've all encountered, is making even people like Dave Rubin, Michael Knowles, and Constantine Kissen, all start to lose their shit.

Yeah, Dave walked away and was a bit pissed, but no one on TYT let it go. Cenk absolutely least of all, and Dave just refused to say anything back, so they kept fucking badgering him, basically just about every week for 3-5 years, then would just shit on him monthly or bi-monthly afterwards. He still hasn't made amends with Anna, even though she's become less psychotic, but he said he'd be willing to eventually. There's some deeply personal hatred there because "he betrayed progress". And remember, Cenk used to be right-wing, so I think Dave suspects he's just been a Leftist grifter for the majority of his career, and was lying to his face while Dave was on the Left.
