Could it be that the alleged "tranny roommate" framed him? Or maybe this is a weird case of a "criss cross" scheme between the two.
IE, Tyler takes the fall until they're actually in court, and then pulls out some evidence in the middle of it that actually proves his innocence. To give the prosecution a black eye, and I guess to incite events without him actually getting convicted.
That is actually a good scenario and the guy is probably smart enough to pull that.
Anything's possible at this point, but seems rather unlikely. Would make a good movie, though.
Admittedly, I'm only familiar with the idea based on a movie cliche.
But it really did strike me as odd at how quickly the alleged tranny roommate gave him up, and how quickly the media (including right-wing) went with the story.
Nah, that only works on TV dramas. Any evidence that will be presented at trial must be made available to both sides before the trial starts, otherwise it isn't admissible.
Not quite the same thing, but Eddie Gallagher the SEAL got off on his war crimes charges by recruiting a witness who obtained legal immunity, then confessed to the crime on the stand.
