Charlie Kirk was brutally and senselessly murdered. Trump has been pretty good at calling this out.
Unless you think we should jump straight to "Murder them all, I'm President Donald J. Trump, and I approve this message," he's been pretty good on this. He's praised and celebrated Charlie, and drawn attention to his murder. I've had my disagreements with Trump, but he's done well here, as far as I can tell.
He was never going to do that, and that's the point I've been making about the civil war talk. It seems like it's dying out now anyway though.
It was never going to lead to civil war. The right as a whole is still too obsessed with turning the other cheek. What it will lead to is a bunch of lone wolves out for vengeance. We haven't met the next McVeigh yet, but we will soon.
And we're going to have to for there to be any hope of the left dialing shit back for real instead of just for show. They never ever see the downside of anything they do until it bites their side in the ass be it gerrymandering, abolishing the filibuster, or political violence. Remember their "no bad tactics, only bad targets" motto? This shit isn't gonna end until some bad targets get hit.

Well to be fair, they don't know which group of people is actually responsible assuming it wasn't the government. They haven't caught the guy yet. Charlie Kirk had all kinds of enemies due to his passionate support for the 2nd amendment, his beliefs relating to women and him pointing out that all these judges in certain states like North Carolina aren't even lawyers. Just being a huge supporter of the constitution alone, puts you on the U.S. government's shit list.

Violence would be a shitty response which would undermine our legitimacy, and serve as the most important possible distraction for the media to hyper-focus on.
This entire week has been nothing but wall to wall: "Leftist cause murderous violence, and only the right can stop it".
At this very moment the Left are fucking desperate to create some "both-sides" bullshit because they are fucking drowning in L's.
The best possible action would be for the FBI to roll this shit-head up, add in anyone else who supported him with a wave of prosecutions, and send in the National Guard to a few more cities to "prevent Democrats from making another Charlie Kirk".

We should always care about optics. Even to ourselves. It just shouldn't be the single highest priority all the time.
