The sad part is this almost feels gentle compared to what they clearly want now. It seemed shocking and radicalizing in 2016, and now its not only just accepted but quaint standing next to what they actually openly want.
It wasn't really shocking if you've been exposed to online leftists. I've been using the computer for longer than some Onlyfans girls have been alive and the main difference is that trannies didn't exist 20 years ago, the activists are basically the same (and often the same people).
20 years ago was just about when the movement was being conceptualized, beyond the rare medically diagnosed dysphoria. I remember having two online friends at the time, one male one female, who both pretended to be the opposite sex and said they wished they were born in a different body. Not at all surprisingly, these were people in a community adjacent to the furries.
The furries are definitely a big part of where the current trans movement gestated. I don't know what could have been reasonably done to stop the furry community from happening.
Stop the infantilization of men so that they have an arrested development and find that as teenagers their only sexual outlet is the sexy cartoon characters they saw on tv and video games.
But that would have required the annihilation of feminism, so probably wasn't going to happen.

They could have been beat by their parents more.
