California accounts for half of gaming industry layoffs

The western video game industry is overwhelmingly left wing. There is no reality in which they collectively admit that their precious DEI is a gigantic and unsustainable net negative for game dev (and, by extension, everything else).
So how does such an industry shed most of its expensive and unproductive DEI hires? By hiding it in mass layoffs. Everyone gets fired because you can’t just fire useless women and minorities.
A lot of these studios could have been saved if it were even remotely possible to remove DEI cancer with targeted firings. But the bosses know that shit won’t fly in California, so everyone had to get the axe.
Not that I care. Almost every “good dev” caught in the fire was a leftist shithead who championed the DEI that ruined his company. They all deserve it.
If you have a resume worth having you'll be fine.
The problem is most of the big companies with $$$ are terminally infected.
Once your company has more than 1 HR person, or some DIE cancer in a leadership position, that person is never going to get fired unless the studio itself closes shop.
Couldn't happen to better people. Just looking at some of the "I just got laid off, here is my resume plz hire me" posts over the last few days and I am shocked at how shamelessly retarded some of them are.
Why would you admit to working on Civ 7, a game so reviled it cause prior games in the series to reach new peaks over it? Why would you even admit to being laid off, something that indicates how disposable your position was in the first place?
They all seem to think they are this incredible talent in a competitive market that is just chomping to poach people, instead of a highly oversaturated industry with probably double the amount of employees available compared to needed jobs.
It can't happen fast enough honestly. I do hate when people lose their jobs. But a lot of them are only there because of DEI hiring practices and forced out everyone who made quality games.
No piece of media coming from California will be good enough to ignore the taint it's also going to come with. It's all terrible, and we all know why.
Now let's lay off the other half and start over.
