I'm always amused how overtly hypocritical this ilk are. How any centrist/normies can't see it, and know this was never about principles it's always been about power. It's beyond me.
During the build up of the new King of the Hill. The showrunner, Saladin Patterson(black), was bragging about getting VAs that match the characters. But somehow decided a sixty year old jewish woman can voice a young twenty year old white dude.
Centrists/normies are political weathervanes. They'll turn wherever the wind's blowing and pretend they were always for that side.
They're tools, not people.

The voice acting industry has always had the glaring hole of "young boys? Eh we can just let any woman voice them, fuck it." Its such a common thing, with so little thought, that many women made their entire career doing it and they probably truly didn't even consider the hypocrisy this might display.
It annoys me a lot because its so rampant that during the "upgrades" Kai did to DBZ they decided Gohan sounding actually like a boy (despite having a female VA, she put in work trying) wasn't necessary and just let a woman make him sound like a full girl his entire childhood. And let's not get started on Granny Goku in Japan.
I never find them convincing either. The most recent one I really noticed was Tears of the Kingdom with the little boy bird character being voiced by a woman. Bitch wasn't even trying.
It is so common I remember it being a little jarring, but was pleasantly surprised, hearing Alfonse in FMA voiced by a real boy Aaron Dismuke instead of a woman. Its so normal that when I googled the VAs name to make sure I got it right the article that popped up said as Aaron had aged out of the role in Brotherhood he was replaced with Maxey Whitehead (♀️) to be more accurate to the manga.
Us "original was better than Brotherhood" Chads staying winning.
