I'm serious, thinking about it, you needed a card to buy games from Steam and most people use credit cards online as it's the safest option.
So long as there isn't a limit to what TYPE of cards you use as there's others than just Mastercard and Visa, this kinda sounds like they went 'let's announce we did a thing when actually we haven't, it was already in place and these lazy idiots never paid attention!'
It probably will get overturned when they lose their lawsuit to 4chan and Kiwi Farms.
Most of the Internet relies on America and when the American courts likely go 'fuck off only WE can directly regulate them', most of this will be dropped realising so long as you're in America, you don't have to follow their rules so the UK would have to block them THEMSELVES which they aren't in a position to do.
The exception is games that have Denuvo, which can basically only be cracked by a couple of Eastern European trannies, one of which refuses to crack anything but the newest FIFA game and the other one is just your standard computer troon.
Right, but minors can still be authorized users on credit cards. Also, parents use their own credit cards to pay for their kid's games all the time. A credit card just doesn't seem like a reliable method of age verification.
All my debit cards are more or less credit cards. There is a visa or mastercard logo on them. Some places still ask me if I want my purchase to be debit or credit. Thought this was how all debit cards worked. I'm not poor or young so I have no idea if there are other types of debit cards out there or what new shitty products they have now.
Wait, wasn't this already the deal?

Also just curious if there's a way to scrape DRM off copies of games you already have DRM copies for (If you know what I mean)
That's cracking and there is most likely already a cracked copy floating around of any game you want to remove the DRM from. But not always.
It takes some time. Last I checked (2 weeks ago) the latest Doom game was not cracked as yet.

Using a debit card online is retarded.
I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this, what about a credit card identifies you as an adult where a debit card doesn't?
