We may see other stories like this as the aliens feel greater pressure and distress over law enforcement. As their number decrease, the aliens who remain might gradually become more desperate and dangerous.
Just means more bugs to stomp. And it's not like there's a shortage of boots.
Double the attack when they do.
The people who don't leave when it's reasonable to do so are the die-hards who intend to fight the hardest, and are the ones you most need to forcibly remove. No different from clearing houses or bunkers in war.
