I had a similar discussion with a friend of mine because the area we are living in had a drastic demo change since COVID. Her conclusion was it is the governments fault for not integrating and not the mass immigration itself.
Like this guy she wants cultural genocide and replacement with some third worlders, she just does not want to impact her personally.
This guy still doesn't realize that it's his own ideology, his own actions, that caused his own wife not to feel safe in her own neighborhood/ city/ country.

Assimilation literally only works through overwhelming external pressure to conform to survive. Its the reason why they say to learn a new language you should just go live somewhere where its spoken primarily and you will get it faster than years of flashcards.
By all means, for it to work they have to be a minority and a small one at that so they can't cluster up to form their own little enclave to escape said pressures. Mass migration cannot ever lead to assimilation even if the government did everything it could and right (lol).

You can make fear of being sent home a good deterrent but that dissipates once the numbers are high enough.
