It was interesting watching Glenn Greenwald's video on the whole Tucker/Fuentes dustup.
Greenwald prefaced things way too much over 45 mins because he claimed Tucker was a work friend, had been on his show numerous times (presumably wants to keep going on).
But Glenn talked about how he felt no fear of criticizing Israel from the left pre-Edward Snowden back in the aughts, having similar discussions that Fuentes is now with Norm Finklestein & John Meirscheimer.
Of course Glenn gets an antisemitism pass being a Jew himself. And he still only does a very pro-Palestine, squeaky clean criticism of the State of Israel without blaming the Jewish people as individuals.
But it was an anecdote that stood out that Glenn claims that it's been permissible to criticize ZIonism from the left for two decades without fear of severe repercussions. When a lot of Fuentes' criticism of Tucker is centered around the fact that he's been OG for 8-10 years since Trump & the escalator in 2015 whereas new bandwagons types like Owens & Carlson have only jumped on in the last year or so as the Overton Window has made it much safer.
This is true. Seen many personal examples myself. One imagines it was allowed because it always amounted to nothing more than a hill of beans, as the anti-Israel activists never voted against Democrats.
Just yesterday, I read a NYT article that referred to an author, not naming him, "who is regarded by many Jews as antisemitic". I looked him up, and it turned out to be Norman Finkelstein! Now, I admit that he can be an absolute madlad, hilarious accusing someone of "Judeo-Dementia", but an antisemite he ain't!
I'm not sure why people insist on blaming Jews as individuals. I also make sure that I say "US government" rather than the US, just so that Muricans don't think that I'm attacking them.
Yeah, but Fuentes is also a type apart from the Tuckers and Candaces of the world. I'd be shocked if Tucker was going to deny the Holocaust or attack Jews in general.
