Why is she calling God, G-d? Speaking on theology isn't using his name in vain?
Observant Jews call God G-d or G'd. Not sure how they do it in actual speech. I think it's a name in vain kind of thing, although I'm pretty sure that the name in question is Yahweh and not "God".
That seems weird to me. I would think educating people on God would not be using it in vain.
Using the name of God in vain doesn't mean not saying it. Using the name of God in vain means using it without reverence, respect, trivially, or for evil purposes. Like saying "Oh my God!" casually, or using his name for cursing people, or false swearing in his name.
I didn't say that.
They never write or speak His title (His name is "I am", they don't say or speak that either.) To the degree that jewish professors of graduate-level religious studies will instruct their students (who are of all faiths) not to use the title/name.
They claim it's a respect thing, but their entire religion is built on hiding from and attempting to trick God.
