Because he can?
Either it's his mother's parrot we saw in a video where she was there with the bird, or he got another female eclectus parrot like his mom had.
His mom went on vacation, so now he's parrot sitting. His mom's parrot likes to hang out with him.
Because an actual parrot is cuter than a fake parrot.
